An established regional law firm with a strong reputation for excellence is seeking a Conveyancing Assistant to join its busy Residential Property department in Ware. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and motivated individual to work alongside experienced conveyancers in a professional and progressive setting.
The Role
You will provide comprehensive administrative and paralegal support to fee earners within the Residential Property team, ensuring transactions progress efficiently from instruction through to completion.
Key responsibilities include: Sales:
- Preparing and sending client estimates, engagement letters, and sale packs.
- Managing file openings, conducting AML checks, and updating the case management system.
- Obtaining title documents, issuing contracts, and liaising with estate agents, lenders, and housing associations.
- Coordinating pre-exchange to post-completion processes, including redemption statements and completion statements.
- Managing client funds securely and preparing post-completion documentation and file closures.
- Opening files, verifying source of funds, and completing AML checks.
- Requesting and reviewing contract packs, searches, and mortgage offers.
- Preparing SDLT calculations and liaising with clients, agents, and lenders.
- Coordinating exchange, completion, and registration formalities at HM Land Registry.
- Managing all related correspondence, checklists, and case updates in the case management system.
- Handling enquiries, answering client calls, and maintaining accurate records.
- Ensuring compliance with all internal processes and quality standards.
- Supporting colleagues and providing cover where necessary.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience within a conveyancing or property law environment.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
- Confidence communicating with clients, agents, and colleagues at all levels.
