Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced marketing professional to join a friendly family run company based in Harlow.  

You would be responsible for both established products, overseeing and managing the life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities and project managing new product development, including market research, product requirements/specifications through to execution, pricing and marketing strategies ensuring they are commercially viable and meet customer needs.

You will also be responsible for the ongoing monitoring and analysing the success of products in line with business objectives and make recommendations for further changes.

Reporting to the International Marketing Director some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee and manage the life cycle of established products, including updating literature, website and creating technical data sheets, as well as maintaining image library, generate case studies, establish publicity programme, representing at chosen exhibitions, and building brand equity.
  • Project manage an ongoing programme of New Product Development, from conception to execution by undertaking market research, identifying needs/opportunities and working with product designer and production to manage design, sampling, photography and costs.
  • Ensure all material and initiatives are within brand guidelines, develop brand messaging to increase brand profile, with a particular focus on development of new market sectors
  • Ensure broad and appropriate coverage of all major market sectors, responsible for briefing Agencies on product promotions, drive new ideas for promotions, utilise all emerging technologies and work with market partners to optimise exposure and opportunity.
  • Arrange and oversee production and promotion of appropriate product support materials, including literature, samples, case studies, Social, web content, etc.
  • Identify opportunities to utilise digital technology to raise profile and support channel partners with catalogue entries and bespoke activity.
  • Act as sales interface to provide support material for all products to assist with sales function and provide ‘expert’ representation with individual customers to support Sales in new product introduction.
  • Work with sales to establish appropriate product positioning and pricing and support trade shows and exhibitions as product specialist on the stand.
  • Work with other members of Marketing team to deliver marketing campaigns and product support as agreed with Marketing Director, and identified in Marketing plans
  • Responsible for monitoring and analysing the success of products in line with business objectives and make recommendations for further changes.
  • Keep up to date on the external environment, changing trends and products/services provided by the company, and make recommendations for new and improved opportunities
  • Keep under review and make recommendations to improve processes, procedures, deadlines, company best practice and professionalism.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:

  • Educated to Degree level – Ideally Marketing and/or Business Studies, with recognised professional qualifications (i.e CIM)
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in B2B marketing position, or Agency
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office and Adobe graphics packages
  • Strategic thinker with creative flair
  • User of digital technologies and experienced in commercial application
  • Organised, with good project management and communication skills
  • Capable content writer, with good English and grammar skills
  • Creative; willing to propose, explore and develop new ways to maximise the Company’s brand
  • Assertive and proactive; should be self-motivated, goal-oriented, quality-driven and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with people at all levels within the company as well as clients and customers.
  • Able to communicate concepts succinctly and effectively, with excellent written and verbal communications; Solid writing and proof reading skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
