We are looking for a vibrant and experienced Customer Service/Sales professional for our fantastic client based in Harlow, Essex. The opportunity would be ideal for someone who is looking to embark on a career and wants to be successful within a well-established company.
The purpose if this role is to maintain and generate sales by pro-actively contacting new and existing customers (mostly warm leads). You will be required to work as part of a team and provide excellent customer service to ensure that the department achieves its objectives and targets.
The successful candidate will work principally on his/her own initiative as well as liaising with various departments within the business including but not limited to: Accounts, Customer Services, Purchasing and Marketing.
The working hours for this role will be between 8.30am/9am – 5.00pm/5.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct soft outbound calls and answer inbound sales calls, following up lapsed customers and warm leads
- Deal with all telephone calls in a prompt, courteous and professional manner
- Process orders, enquiries and amendments correctly, using the computer system
- Identify and action customer requirements, including information requests, orders or account queries
- Liaise with the Accounts department on all account queries and issues
- Liaise with Customer Service department to process enquiries
- Liaise with the despatch department on special or urgent deliveries, following up with appropriate checks and administration
- Liaise with the purchasing department on stock enquires
- Collect and input all faxed orders and file all documentation and correspondence, according to a rota
- Take part in proactive sales campaigns
- Manage open orders, aiming to maximise invoiced sales
- Prepare quotations within agreed parameters
- Conduct follow up calls on all quotation enquiries within agreed time frames
- Maintain market awareness to identify potential new key accounts
- Raise and progress customer orders, ensuring delivery dates are met
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions
- Establish an excellent working relationship with Field Sales personnel
- Provide support to all Contact Centre colleagues and customers as required
Environment:
- Based at Head Office in Harlow
- Based in an friendly office environment with occasional work in the warehouse
- An amount of physical work is required (lifting)
Person Specification:
- GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at grace ‘C’ or above
- Experience of working in a customer service and sales environment
- Excellent telephone manner
- Effective communication and negotiation skills – both verbal and written
- Well-developed planning and organisational skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Develop good working relationships and work co-operatively with colleagues within and outside your own work area
- A working knowledge and understanding of relevant SAP modules is desirable
