We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Logistics Supervisor to join a dynamic and growing organisation based in Hertford.
The purpose of the role is to manage the daily logistics needs of the business. Communicating via telephone and email with both logistics suppliers and customers. Experience in traffic management is not essential, however applicants with these skills should apply. The role is usually around 75% task driven involving routine processing, administration and confirming arrangements. The other 25% is mostly problem solving and dealing with issues as they arise.
Key tasks
- First point of contact for any escalations
- Managing incoming enquiries and responding appropriately
- Collection and delivery management with customers; scheduling, booking in, follow-up and reporting
- Complaint handling and resolution
- Liaising with accounts team on any queries
- Supervising the department and its workload, prioritising the day to day activities to ensure deadlines are achieved and that a high quality customer focused service is provided.
- To manage the company databases, ensuring that data quality and integrity is maintained on a daily basis and across the department team.
- Measure performance and report weekly on business activity and suppliers performance to the Commercial Manager with bullet point commentary and suitable recommendations
- To work towards and achieve key tasks set by the Commercial Manager, reporting on progress made on a weekly basis.
- Supporting senior management with projects and ad hoc tasks.
Attributes and Experience required

- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Previous experience working in an office environment
- Previous logistics, customer services or planning experience
- Strong organisational skills
- Articulate and well mannered
- Proficient on MS office packages
Package
- Working Hours: 9am to 5pm
- Salary: £20,000 - £25,000
- Holiday: 20 days plus bank holidays, increasing annually
