Territory: Midlands, Wales & South West England
Location: Field / Home Based
Salary: £43,473 + Company Car
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, with flexibility required
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Territory Sales Manager to manage and grow a well-established sales territory across the Midlands, Wales and South West England.
This is a highly autonomous, field-based role focused on winning new business, developing existing customer accounts and delivering profitable year-on-year sales growth. We are seeking a candidate with experience of selling to wholesalers and if you have experience within the food industry that would be a distinct advantage. Immediate availability is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage existing accounts to identify additional product opportunities, increase sales and maximise profitability.
- Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities across the territory.
- Build strong relationships with key purchasing decision makers.
- Grow sales and within existing accounts.
- Manage the full customer relationship from initial contact through to order, delivery and payment.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms while protecting margin.
- Deliver agreed sales, margin and new account targets.
- Maintain effective territory and journey planning.
- Monitor customer credit and ensure accounts remain within agreed payment terms.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales pipeline information and activity reports.
- Work closely with internal sales, transport, production and technical teams.
- Resolve customer queries and complaints quickly and professionally.
- Develop strong product, competitor and market knowledge.
We are looking for someone with:
- Proven field sales experience managing a defined territory or account base.
- A strong track record of winning new business and growing sales.
- Experience negotiating prices and commercial terms with business customers.
- Strong commercial awareness, particularly around price, volume and margin.
- Excellent relationship-building, influencing and negotiation skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage a large geographical territory effectively.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, Excel and CRM/customer database systems.
- A full UK driving licence.
