Assistant Stock Controller
Location: Harlow (with occasional travel to other local sites)
Salary: £31,000 per annum DOE
Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours per week - 9-5 Monday to Friday
 
The Opportunity
 
Mosaic Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established and growing organisation in the search for an Assistant Stock Controller to join their busy operations team.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, analytical and detail-oriented individual looking to build or further develop a career within stock control, inventory management or supply chain operations.
 
Working alongside the Senior Stock Controller and Finance Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring stock accuracy across multiple sites while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the inventory function.

The Role
 
As Assistant Stock Controller, you will be responsible for supporting all aspects of stock control, helping to maintain accurate inventory records and ensuring stock movements are processed efficiently.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same, requiring excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks within a busy operational environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out daily stock checks using perpetual inventory systems.
  • Audit daily vehicle dispatches to ensure stock accuracy.
  • Book deliveries into stock across multiple sites.
  • Review and investigate daily stock exception reports.
  • Manage and monitor part pallets.
  • Process cancelled orders back into stock.
  • Check customer returns and Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation.
  • Close production orders accurately.
  • Assist with monthly stock takes across multiple locations.
  • Investigate stock discrepancies and identify root causes.
  • Produce monthly reports relating to stock variances.
  • Monitor stock with limited shelf life to minimise waste and support effective stock rotation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records across internal systems.
  • Support internal and external audit processes.
  • Maintain clear communication with colleagues and provide effective handovers where required.

About You
 
The successful candidate will be highly organised, methodical and able to work accurately within a fast-paced environment.
You will have:
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Good standards of Maths and English.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving.
  • The ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, as occasional travel between local sites will be required.

Desirable Experience
Although not essential, experience in the following would be advantageous:
  • Previous Stock Control or Inventory experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Knowledge of inventory management processes.
  • Business Management or Logistics qualifications.
