Location: Harlow
Salary: £35,000-40,000 up to £5,000 OTE paid quarterly (to be discussed at interview)
Hours: 8-5pm on site ( 40 hours) Monday to Friday
Holiday: 20 days plus bank holidays and have your birthday off on them!

Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Office Manager to take full ownership of the day-to-day administrative and dispatch operations within a busy regional office. This role is central to ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the business from both an office and operational perspective.
You will lead a team of office-based administrators and work closely with the General Manager, who oversees a large field-based engineering workforce. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone confident managing people, processes, KPIs, and complex situations in a fast-paced service environment.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the end-to-end daily office operations, ensuring all administrative and dispatch activities run efficiently
- Line manage, support, and develop a team of administrators, including performance management and workload planning
- Manage scheduling and dispatch to ensure field engineers are deployed effectively and customer commitments are met
- Act as the escalation point for complex customer or operational issues, resolving problems professionally and efficiently
- Monitor, analyse, and report on KPIs, operational performance, and service levels
- Support sales performance through turnover reporting and operational insight
- Work collaboratively with senior management to drive continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, customer experience, and team performance
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Office Manager, Operations Manager, or senior administrative role
- Proven experience managing the end-to-end running of a busy office
- Background in a fast-paced environment such as dispatch, construction, maintenance, utilities, or engineering services
- Strong people management skills, including handling challenging conversations and situations
- Experience working with KPIs, performance metrics, and sales-related reporting
- Highly organised, resilient, and able to prioritise under pressure
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Experience within a field-based engineering, utilities, or maintenance environment
- Knowledge of scheduling or dispatch systems
- Experience working within a large, customer-focused organisation
