Role Overview
The Operational Risk Manager is responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating operational risks throughout the organisation. The role supports the development and maintenance of the operational risk framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations and alignment with the organisation's risk appetite.
This is a hands-on role working closely with senior stakeholders, business leaders, and control functions to embed effective risk management and governance practices and promote a strong risk culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the operational risk management framework, policies, and procedures
- Identify and assess operational risks across business units, including people, process, systems, and external risks
- Facilitate and challenge Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs)
- Monitor and report key risk indicators (KRIs) and emerging risks
- Manage operational risk incidents and losses, including root cause analysis and remediation tracking
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and internal standards
- Prepare high-quality risk reports and dashboards for senior management and committees
- Advise and challenge the business on control design and effectiveness
- Contribute to continuous improvement of risk governance and risk culture
- Support audits, regulatory reviews, and risk assurance activities
