Location: Harlow
Salary: £29,000 - £30,000
Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday
We are working with a long-established, well-respected local firm of solicitors who are looking to appoint a Conveyancing Assistant to join their friendly residential property department. This is a fantastic opportunity to support an experienced Licensed Conveyancer in a busy but supportive environment where client care and attention to detail are highly valued.
The Role
As Conveyancing Assistant, you will provide key administrative and file support across all stages of residential conveyancing transactions. The role is ideal for someone with previous conveyancing or legal support experience, who enjoys responsibility, is highly organised, and takes pride in delivering a first-class service.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and sending quotes for sales and purchase transactions
- Opening new files, taking client ID, and carrying out money laundering checks
- Handling sale and purchase enquiries and assisting with exchanges of contracts (if experienced)
- Preparing completion statements and invoices
- Processing client payments via the office card machine
- Ordering searches and managing results
- Using the Land Registry portal for registrations and title documentation
- General administrative support including filing, photocopying, and document management
- Assisting with completion formalities and post-completion registrations
- Previous experience in conveyancing or legal administration is essential
- Strong organisational skills with a methodical approach
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
