- We are seeking a talented and consultative Business Development Manager to play a crucial role in the success of organisation working towards a safer environment within the Construction Industry. The successful candidate will take the lead on generating new sales leads building and sustaining new relationships with industry organisations, developing and managing a pipeline of companies, and encouraging them on their journey. They will also take responsibility for forecasting sales revenue, and progressing awareness, engagement and growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and engage with companies, stakeholders, partners, customers, clients and procurement frameworks including:
- seek out the appropriate contacts in an organisation
- generate quality leads and cold call qualified prospective customers by strategic prospecting
- meet with partners/customers/clients face to face or over the phone
- foster and develop strong relationships with frameworks/ companies/partners/customers/clients
- understand the needs of customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these
- have a good understanding of the businesses' products or services and be able to advise others about them.
- Develop, grow and manage a pipeline of prospects and encourage and support them to progress onto the Champions process
- Keep company intelligence up-to-date via a CRM system and use this to inform prioritisation of prospects and manage ongoing contact and relationships with companies
- Input into and help deliver targets for participation and income for registered signatories as a prospect pipeline for corporate supporters
- Liaise with other teams as across the business and sister company.
Essential Skills & Experience
- A working knowledge of sales models
- Relationship building and maintenance skills
- Thorough knowledge of IT systems and software including CRM systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and presentation skills to all levels of seniority
- The ability to influence and negotiate with others in a respectable manner
- Commercial awareness to comment and navigate strategy decision making
- Partnership building and ongoing stakeholder relationship management
- 2-3 years' experience of High-Value solution selling
- Organised and attention to detail with the ability to prioritise
- Ability to create strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
- Ability to devise and implement structure with pipeline management and CRM systems
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Working knowledge of procurement frameworks in construction
- Capacity and willingness to learn and analyse wider sectorial and industry trends
- Degree in Business Development/ Management /Sales [or equivalent experience]
- Presenting skills
- Presentation and production e.g., PowerPoint or other presentation software.
- Knowledge of the Construction Industry.
