Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive and customer centric organisation as a Materials Controller, the role will involve supporting the Operation Teams who are delivering a high-quality service to customers.
 
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Liaising with the materials partner to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of materials delivered on site and to operatives.
  • Ensuring all van stock is replenished in a suitable time frame.
  • Monitoring and tracking van stock movement on a regular basis, to identify areas of maximum and minimal usage.
  • Reporting and analysing material costs and spend across all services. Identifying any discrepancies and working with materials partner to rectify.
  • Monitoring materials are allocated to correct jobs and identifying discrepancies on material codes. Co-ordination with operatives and operation team:
  • Managing the stores on site, overseeing the process and in line with H&S requirements.
  • Overseeing the deliveries from suppliers to the stores.
  • Assisting operatives with material enquiries.
  • Supporting operatives with using IT equipment and software for ordering materials and stock replenishment.
  • Assisting with stock takes and van audits.
  • Assisting the team with ordering and purchasing of non-standard items.
  • Working with the operational teams to achieve repairs time targets and keep work in progress (WIP) to a minimum.
  • Ensuring any off-site material locations are sufficiently stocked and utilised accordingly.
  • Producing reports on key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Introduce new ideas and innovative ways of working.
  • General administration duties as required.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ATTRIBUTES
  • Experience working within a supply chain environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain an effective and professional approach at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, other staff, customers and partners to provide efficient and effective services.
  • Ability to analyse data.
  • Great organisational skill and the ability to co-ordinate with people effectively.
  • Good working knowledge of ICT systems and MS Office
  • Eye for detail and an analytical and logical approach.
