Description
We are currently seeking a buyer for a growing organisation who supply premium products. The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills, be a proficient user of technology and will be keen and willing to provide a high level of service both internally and externally.
The Buyer will play an instrumental role in working with the existing supply chain as well as exploring new suppliers to source reliable, cost competitive and effective lines of supply.
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities of the role
  • Coordinate the procurement related administration
  • Supplier management and negotiation, agree trading terms, service level and rebates
  • Carry out pre-approvals for new subcontractors and suppliers
  • Effective use of the companies spend capability to achieve the best overall outcomes
  • Support the Warehouse Manager in maintaining suitable stock levels
  • Carry out cost verification and approval of contracts department orders
  • Where necessary, resolve purchase order queries and differences
Skills and Experience
Essential
Experience in a similar role
  • SAGE
  • Strong verbal negotiation and written communication skills
  • Numeracy and analytical ability to interpret trends and patterns from reports
  • Commercial / value awareness
  • Intermediate to advanced user of all Microsoft Office tools including Excel
Preferred
  • Providing outstanding customer service and acting as the first point of contact for incoming calls.
  • Managing both telephone and e mail enquiries, professionally, effectively and efficiently
  • Processing orders and keeping clients updated with information regarding their orders and deliveries
  • Building a close working relationship with others in the supply chain, including all team members within the warehouse operation
  • Offering support for all ad hoc administrative duties
