£24,000-£28,000 depending on experience
8-5 Mon-Thursday and 8-4 Fridays

ROLE PURPOSE:
The role is wide ranging, covering the provision of information to customers and meeting the needs of
our BRC Storage & Distribution accreditation. Ideal candidate will have a Food Science degree for this role and may have had previous experience of food hygiene and safety. Previous coursework in Food Microbiology and safety, nutrition and food policy, advance food analysis, quality management and new product development and processing.
Key Responsibilities
•
Completion of self-audit questionnaires from customers.
• Completion of customer format specifications.
• Response to enquiries on applications and specifications.
• Sourcing and supply of customer samples.
• Assessment of returned supplier questionnaires.
• Recording and investigation of customer complaints.
• Complaint summaries and trending reports.
• Daily check and monitoring of quarantined stock in the warehouse.
• Development and issue of our clients format specifications.
• Issue of short format specifications.
• HACCP, Food Safety, Equipment and other internal audits, Calibration, Glass & rigid plastic audits.
• Routine product analysis.
• Life extensions for products nearing end of life.
• Organoleptic assessment of new & existing products.
• Maintenance of training records and matrix.
• Issue of induction training to new starters.
Skills and Experience
• Experience in a similar role within a food environment
• Degree in food science preferable.
• Preferably Internal auditor trained.
• Experience in the bakery ingredients industry an advantage, but not essential as full training will be
provided.
• Strong organisational abilities, and record keeping skills.
• Ability to respond rapidly to customer needs.
• Accuracy and attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Computer literacy (able to use of MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Strong communication skills, orally and written. Ability to work under pressure.
• Focussed on customer service. Structured organised approach to work. Able to work as part of a team,
deputising as necessary, and to use initiative.
