We are looking for a Pre-Production Manager for an expanding British lighting manufacturer based in Hoddesdon.
This company specialise in high quality, high specification, linear aluminium LED fittings for the Commercial Lighting market
The role is varied and interesting with most light fittings made to order and a broad selection of standard fittings going through production together with many interesting and innovative bespoke items.
Duties:
- Receives processed orders from the Sales Department
- Produces the Works Orders on the software system ready for production
- Manages the factory work schedule dovetailing all the various projects together to satisfy the customers’ requirements
- Maintains and updates a visual planning board to show the jobs in progress and their delivery dates
- Generates a component shortage report for procurement to actions
- Consults with Procurement on orders to the outsourced welding and powder coaters and acoustic materials when needed
- Holds daily production meetings with the Production Foreman and instructs the factory with their scheduled work
- Consults with the customers on the delivery schedules
- Able to accurately feedback the live lead times to the sales team to ensure they are giving the correct information up front to their prospective customers
- Keeps track on the aluminium profile stock to ensure there is material available when needed and consults with the metal stockholders to action call off orders
- Manages any changes on the works orders once the jobs are complete to ensure the costs
The ideal candidate will have worked in Pre-Production or a Production Scheduling role previously.
The working hours are 07:30 through to 16:30 or 08:00 to 17:00 with 45 minutes of breaks during the day. The holiday allowance is 20 days plus the statutory bank holidays.
