Description

Are you an experienced HR Advisor available immediately for a temporary role? If so, I have a great opportunity for you to join my fantastic client based in Bishop’s Stortford!

They are seeking a HR Advisor on a temporary basis who is experienced in all aspects of HR and ideally is CIPD qualified. You will also need excellent communication skills with the ability to do this at all levels.

Due to the location of this role, you must have access to your own transport.

Key duties;

  • To act as the first point of contact, providing employee relations, wellbeing and policy advice and guidance to managers, to include supporting the HRM with organisational change/restructuring. To keep up to date with relevant employment related legislation, good practice guidance and wider initiatives  to ensure current policies and existing practices are compliant; make recommendations for change to the HRM a necessary;
  • Draft correspondence, reports and other documents to include researching, drafting / updating HR policies and guidance under the direction of the HRM:
  • Build effective relationships with managers and promote good employee relations across the services, actively supporting Managers to develop their HR management skills and practice;
  • Assist with matters relating to tribunals and insurance claims (PI) and liaise with external agencies, e.g. trades unions, Legal Advisors and occupational health services, EAP, Croner advisory service as required.
  • To act as first point of contact advisor to employees with respect to employee benefits and signposting where necessary; ensuring that benefits remain competitive and current and reviewing where needed, working with the HR Director.
  • Support the effective management of sickness absence, to include liaison with occupational health and regular reviews with HRM of long-term sickness cases; actively work with managers to manage LTS cases and support individuals back to work.
  • Advise and support managers in undertaking face to face exit interviews for leavers. Where appropriate carry out exit interviews, under the direction of the HR Manager.
  • Deliver the HR induction presentation for new starters as part of Welcome Week. To review and update this as needed to ensure new staff are fully informed.
  • Record and keep track of budget expenditure and report to the Director on any variances with respect to monitoring the HR budget and spend. Liaising with the Director, HRM, Head of HR Operations and Learning and Development Manager, as necessary.
  • Maintain and actively monitor external subscriptions or contracts of service to actively ensure renewal dates are managed in good time. 
  • Be responsible for DBS referrals (in the case of dismissals), under the guidance and instruction of the HR Manager.
  • Maintaining and updating HR systems, spreadsheets and intranet pages, including ER case tracker system. Reviewing and updating as needed.
  •  Maintain filing systems, both manual and computerised, relating to own work and that of the Director and HR Manager, ensuring efficient collation, storage and retrieval of information. Maintain outlook diaries, schedule appointments for the Director and HR Manager as required.
  • To coordinate the collation of HR data for reports both for internal committees and external regulatory bodies, e.g., Reg45 and Reg 44 as required.
  • Maintain HR CPD and ensure mandatory training remains up to date, attending training sessions as required for professional/personal/service development.
