Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Group Accounts Manager to join a dynamic and successful organisation based in Outwood, Redhill.

As a Group Accounts Manager, you will have a robust technical knowledge of all aspects of accounting – including management accounts, year-end compliance, and intercompany/multi-company experience to trial balance.

The role would see you report to the Finance Director. This role will have high visibility across all areas of the group and drive improved performance through efficient working whilst streamlining and preserving procedures.

Responsibilities include: (this is not exhaustive)

  • Demonstrate excellent management and leadership skills. Directs, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team
  • Ensuring your team have clearly defined roles and objectives, and that they are developed and motivated to achieve the standards expected
  • Management of the Payroll process to ensure the team meet strict weekly deadlines
  • Production and reconciliation of monthly VAT returns for submission to HMRC
  • Understand and adhere to internal audit/compliance/statutory requirements and provide fundamental support during the Year End Audit process
  • Monthly reconciliation of Sales figures produced by the Commercial team on the Project Accounting Eque2 Software to the Sage 200 Sales Nominal Ledger Accounts
  • Production and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and posting journals relating to accruals/prepayments, depreciation of fixed assets and other necessary transactions
  • Reconciliation and analysis of cost transactions to the nominal ledgers
  • Oversee production and reconciliation of Group inter-company nominal ledger accounts and transactions
  • Produce the monthly management accounts for all companies including a fully reconciled consolidated P&L and Balance sheet via excel
  • Provide support and assist the Financial Director with necessary tasks and reconciliation where required

Person Specification:

  • A strong background in the Construction industry is highly desirable
  • Sage 50 payroll and Sage 200 experience essential
  • Knowledge of Eque2 Software or similar Project Costing Accounting Packages is advantageous
  • Experience with managing and supervising a small team
  • Driven, self-motivated and possessing initiative, with a well organised personality
  • Have a flexible approach to a varied and demanding role, being able to manage numerous priorities at the same time and manage risks under pressure.
  • Robust knowledge of PAYE requirements, reporting and HMRC practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of the structured finance business sector and maintain familiarity with industry best practices

Hours of work: 37.5 hours (Monday to Friday) 09.00am to 17.00pm.
