- Description
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Customer Account Manager to join a leading and dynamic organisation based in Croydon.
You will be allocated your own group of clients and they encourage their Account Managers to think of looking after these clients as running their own business. The role represents the opportunity to take an entrepreneurial approach to client management without the hassle of actually running a business. The role can be broadly split into two parts, as outlined below:
Client Development
The challenge is to help your clients to be more successful than they were last year. That can involve working with them on specific opportunities, identifying products or services about which they are not aware or doing a deal on something they buy elsewhere.
The company will provide you with campaigns, products and opportunities to help develop your business. They will back that up with training, guidance, marketing and sales support.
Service
Building long lasting relationships with your clients requires them to have an exceptional experience. Your role will be to ensure that your clients get the absolute best service possible. The role is varied and interesting and will including helping your clients when:
- They need a quote for products or when they need to order them
- They need support and advice regarding their products and the scenarios that they will be used in. You’ll get plenty of product training and support to enable you to excel in this area
- They need assistance to change a delivery time or location, find out more about when a delivery has or will take place or to locate goods once they have been delivered
- They need to let us know a product needs to be returned, replaced or where there is a fault
- There are exciting new products or services that they will want to know about
- They need documents including invoices, POD’s and technical information
Experience & skills
Experience in an account management environment is essential. Ideally, you’ll be used to dealing with tangible products and with tradespeople as customers.
Technical knowledge is not required (they have a comprehensive training programme to cover that) but the successful candidate must demonstrate a willingness to learn and understand customer’s needs. Enthusiasm, drive, a desire to provide the highest level of service and recognise opportunities to upsell would suit the role well. They are also looking for:
- A high level of initiative and ability to work independently
- The ability to work and interact with client senior level staff, engineers and administrative staff
- Commercial acumen (understanding profitability and costs)
- Exceptional communication: both written and spoken
- Coordinate work flow with other team members
- Able to analyse and interpret data rapidly and effectively to provide customer insight
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- A good level of IT competency
Progression
They have a clear progression structure that allows development through 8 stages of achievement. Each stage requires additional skills that improve the customer experience and they will train and develop their Account Managers to progress. As you progress, your basic salary increases to reflect the additional benefits that you bring to their customers.
Benefits
In return, my client offer's 28 days holiday (including bank holidays, rising every 2 years of employment to a maximum of an extra 5), an extra day’s holiday on your birthday, company pension contributions, monthly bonuses and weekly and monthly incentives.
