I have a fantastic opportunity available for a Logistics Executive for my client who are based in Bishop’s Stortford.
This is a great role working for a well-established and successful company who work with some of the biggest brands worldwide.
The successful candidate will need to have a background in a similar role (logistics) and have an understanding of the distribution process. You will also need to be IT literate and have excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
This role will initially be on a six month fixed term contract so you will need to be available to start immediately.
Key duties;
- Arrange transportation of goods from the identified supplier or Principals warehouse to the defined delivery location in an efficient and cost focused way.
- Keep the Customer Service team updated on the arrival progress of the order, highlighting any issues to them swiftly so that customer can be contacted and made aware of pending issues to determine a corrective measure as needed.
- Ensure costs are entered on to the ERP system to ensure accuracy of records. Support the accuracy and sign off of freight invoices. Verify the accuracy of suppliers / Principals invoices and ensure discrepancies are reverted to the Purchasing team for clarification.
- Accurately produce clearance instructions for the chosen agent.
- Perform a suspended receipt on the ERP system at the correct point in the movement of stocks. This task is to be carried out with the minimum of delay and impact on stock arrivals to the designated delivery addresses.
- In the event of a warehouse damage notified on the paperwork arrange for a Non Conformance to be raised by the relevant member of the Purchasing team.
- Work with the designated freight provider to manage delivery bookings in to the specified warehouse and escalate any delivery concerns to the Logistics Team Leader and Operations Manager.
- Support the smooth functioning of the warehouse by providing booking slots (where applicable) for the inbound arrival of all stocks to the designated delivery addresses.

- Carry out any other duties or responsibilities as identified by the Logistics Team Leader or Operations Manager.
