- Description
We are looking for a bright, keen individual that is looking to progress within an Accounts role. You must be highly numerate, have a good understanding of key accountancy principle and processes and have a first class attention to detail.
Working within a small accounts team reporting to the Finance Manager you will support the department and team by carrying out clerical and accounting tasks. You will maintain the purchase ledger and also assist the Finance Manager with the financial reporting.
This would suit someone with some accounts experience/knowledge who is looking to learn and progress with the company and their accountancy studies.
Key Responsibilities include:
Purchase Ledger
- Full responsibility for Purchase Ledger
- Matching purchase invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes
- Processing Stock invoices onto the ERP system
- Processing Overhead invoices onto Sage
- Ensure all invoices are correctly authorised within the Authorisation Hierarchy
- Prepare and process payment runs
Sales Ledger
- Process the invoice run from the ERP system and upload onto Sage
- Send out all invoices to customers
- Ensure all credit notes have been authorised prior to sending
- Sending out customer monthly statements
- Process customer receipts and allocate monies to accounts from remittance advices
- Reconcile and process PDQ customer credit card receipts onto Sage
Management Reporting
- Prepare estimated daily hire income report
- Prepare Accruals and Prepayments
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register
- Bank reconciliation's both in sterling and foreign currencies
- Reconciliation of inter-company accounts
- Any other month end reporting/tasks as required
Expenses
- Process company credit card expenses
- Process cash expenses and send to payroll for payment
General Administration
- Ad hoc administration tasks
Knowledge/Skills and Experience:
- Experience/solid understanding of key accountancy principles and processes
- First rate numerical skills with a high proficiency in Math's
- Outstanding accuracy and attention to detail
- Good level of Excel skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Hard-working, proactive with a good attitude to everyday tasks
- Keen to learn and progress
- Experience of Sage is desirable
