This is an exciting opportunity for a Health, Safety and Environment Officer to join a dynamic and rapidly expanding organisation in their smart modern offices. The primary purpose of this role will be to manage the company’s Health and Safety systems to ensure compliance with international standards and internal policies and procedures. The role will involve travel throughout the UK based upon the business needs.
Duties and responsibilities
- Ensure that all health and safety management systems are robust and reflect the business objectives. This will include compliance withrelevant legislation, regulation, standards, licences and certificates including BSI, ISO’s, CHAS and Achilles
- Ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to throughout the organisation
- Manage internal audits at all sites, implementing changes or updating as required
- Inform employees and contractors of changes to systems, processes and procedures
- Plan and complete audits in accordance with audit programmes
- Produce reports for all audits undertaken identifying:
- Deficiencies and non-compliance issues
- Reasons for occurrence
- Corrective action required
- Achievable target dates for follow-up audits
- Monitor progress on corrective actions
- Identify examples of good practice that can be championed throughout the group
- Undertake H&S inductions, DSE’s and investigations as required
- Conduct Quality Management Reviews in line with company policy including the production of all required analysis and documentation
- Ensure company H & S policies and procedures meet legislative requirements
- Manage the incident reporting system, conduct accident investigations and produce monthly and yearly incident and accident reports
- Undertake risk assessments and hazard analysis as required and monitor all follow up actions
Knowledge and skills: essential
- Proficient in Excel and MS Office for the purpose of reporting
Qualifications: essential
