Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Improvement Analyst to join a large dynamic and rapidly expanding organisation. The successful candidate will have a proven background in a similar role, be numerate and analytical with the ability to produce detailed reports and presentations.

The role is fully accountable for the analysis and improvement of decision engine strategy performance.  Ensuring maximum cash recovery, efficiency and effectiveness, cost management and enhanced service delivery through analysis of performance data whilst at the same time meeting all client contractual obligations.  The role will incorporate the optimal use of existing and new decision engine capability to propose, design, test and implement the most appropriate collections and recoveries strategies to fulfil the above objective.

Core duties and responsibilities

  • Analyse trends and propose improvement strategies for consideration by all relevant internal stakeholders, predominantly for presentation at the operational board.  This will include expected improvement metrics and any associated cost consideration.
  • Test and implement signed-off improvement strategies within the decision engine.  Where possible this should be approached in a champion/challenger approach. 
  • To work closely with all relevant third parties supplying analytical support to the group.  This may include, but is not limited to, providing required data sets, addressing any queries, attending review meetings etc.
  • Analyse performance plans and strategy plans to deliver SLA and contract performance in line with both the company and client requirements.
  • Presentation and communication of performance analysis and new strategies to internal and external stakeholders as and when required.
  • Develop processes and reports so that all regular reporting can be delivered in a standardised and highly automated manner and simply distributed to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Identifying and initiating ad-hoc strategy/campaign to boost collections performance upon identification of underperformance.
  • To assist with production and review of weekly, monthly and quarterly performance analysis to support the senior management in the collation of monthly board report(s).  This will focus on set key performance indicators.            
  • Provide, and create where required, data to ensure that the performance across all operational areas impacted by the decision engine strategies is delivered as agreed by the respective responsible director.  Ensuring that any impact to resource is highlighted where applicable.
  • Work closely with key operational support functions (i.e. enforcement, contact centres etc.) to drive out a collaborative and considered approach to strategy performance improvement.
  • Support operational managers and service teams in understanding their operational performance through strategy and performance analysis, including attending strategic client meetings where required.
  • Demonstrate a strong performance acumen, understanding key operational and financial drivers to performance, including a focus on cost versus revenue return.
  • Look to research and implementation any relevant innovation that could help meet the ‘business as usual’ or strategic drivers of the company.
  • Continually seek improvement and automation in performance reporting and analysis, including the identification of risk and implementation of remedial risk actions (performance and client KPI/SLA).
  • Continually identify any potential operational efficiencies and improvements to working practices and procedures.

Knowledge and skills (essential);

  • Numerate and analytical.
  • Exceptional excel and MS office skill.
  • Able to produce accurate and concise reporting and commentary.
  • A detailed understanding of reporting and industry (collections) specific KPI’s.
  • Ability to work autonomously.

Knowledge and skills (desirable);

  • SAS, SQL or similar coding knowledge.
  • Cognos or similar business reporting package knowledge.
  • Experience of managing business rules technology.

Qualifications: desirable

  • Mathematics or statistics background - degree or equivalent.

Experience: essential

  • Over 2 years’ experience undertaking performance analysis
  • Over 2 years’ experience within collections, credit, enforcement or similar financial environment
