** IMMEDIATE START ** Temporary Contract until September 2017 - Excellent working environment and conditions for a large global Blue Chip Company

We are looking for an experienced Sales Ledger Clerk to work for our blue chip global client in their European Shared Service Centre based in Stevenage.  This is a temporary position until September 2017 to increase resource within their Sales Ledger team for a new project they are working on. The role would also suit a student or intern wanting to learn Sales Ledger.

The main objective for the Sales Ledger Clerk will be to ensure that customer payments including; cheque, wire transfers, Direct Debit, BoE, Riba, Promissory Notes and any other type of payment is applied to customer accounts in an accurate and timely fashion.

Sales Ledger Clerk day to day duties include:

  • Access banking and EFT transmissions on a daily basis
  • Ensure cash received is allocated promptly and accurately to customer accounts
  • Prepare and apply Direct Debits, BoE, Riba and Promissory Notes to the ERP System
  • Ensure all Automated Cash Application systems are applied and exceptions reviewed and dealt with on a daily basis
  • Scan cheque and backup documents to the system
  • Archive documents, both manually and electronically
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Run all daily, weekly and monthly reports
  • Post all confirmed tax deductions to appropriate General Ledger accounts
  • Work closely with the Credit and Collection teams and escalate any issues through to the Cash Application Supervisor

Personal Specification for the Sales Ledger Clerk:

  • At least 3 years experience of working within a Sales Ledger / Accounts Receivable / Cash Allocation environment
  • Good understanding of billing, accounts receivable and credit and collections
  • Fast learner on new systems
  • Good spoken English is essential / Additional language would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet changeable deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Able to commit to a Fixed Term Contract until September 2017
