- Our lovely client in the FMCG company is seeing a Temporary Assistant Accountant to join a friendly team of six.
This role may become permanent, but initially it will be offered as a FTC minimum of 3 months.
The successful candidate will be part qualified or studying towards a professional accountancy qualification. i.e. AAT, CIMA or ACCA.
Role Purpose
To support the Management Accountant in the day-to-day financial operations of the business and assist with month-end closure processes.
Hours: 8-5pm - Could be slightly flexible whilst the role is a temporary contract.
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Location: Waltham Abbey, Essex EN9
Key Accountabilities / Main Duties- Prepare bank statements to ensure allocations are ready for review.
- Process purchase invoices into the company’s finance system.
- Resolve supplier queries in liaison with suppliers and the procurement team.
- Scan purchase invoices into the document management system.
- Reconcile GRNI (Goods Received Not Invoiced) with supplier accounts.
- Process employee expenses through the company’s expense platform.
- Complete daily reconciliations of company bank accounts.
- Prepare month-end journals for review.
- Calculate and process customer and supplier rebates.
- Prepare and calculate depreciation in the Fixed Asset Register.
- Prepare and analyse daily commercial reports.
- Perform stock reconciliations and assess provisions.
- Carry out any other ad hoc duties as directed by senior management.
- Strong IT literacy, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a busy team.
- A professional Accountancy qualification.
