The role will form part of a collaborative team, and the successful candidate will be a detail orientated professional who is seeking an opportunity to develop their career in a fast paced finance environment. They will take responsibility for providing administrative and financial support to the finance department and ensuring the smooth and efficient running of day-to-day financial operations.
Duties
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Processing invoices, expense claims, and payments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintaining and updating supplier and customer records.
- Reconciling accounts payable and receivable ledgers.
- Assisting with the collection of outstanding debts.
- Bookkeeping and Reporting:
- Performing data entry for financial transactions, including sales, purchases, and expenses.
- Assisting with the preparation of financial reports, such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
- Reconciling bank statements and other financial accounts.
- Maintaining accurate and organized financial records and filing systems.
- General Administration:
- Assisting with internal and external audits.
- Responding to financial queries from employees, clients, and suppliers.
- Supporting the finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.
- Preparing and processing payroll as needed.
- Compliance:
- Ensuring all financial transactions comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Assisting with the preparation and filing of tax returns and other statutory submissions.
- A-levels or equivalent, with a strong focus on mathematics or a related subject.
- A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
- Part-qualification for a professional accounting qualification would be an advantage.
- Previous experience in a finance role.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is essential.
