Description
We are currently seeking an IT Officer/ERP Specialist who will provide support for the IT Manager in overseeing and coordinating the ERP system and technology infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations, and assisting with the implementation of IT policies and projects. This role combines administrative, technical, and organisational responsibilities to ensure IT systems align with business goals.
 
Key Duties
  • Trouble shooting problems that arise from users and devices from all sites
  • Installation and configuration of software across all workstations in the network
  • Maintenance of all users and groups and their particularities in Active Directory
  • Maintain and check that all Backup systems are working and in place
  • Collect the relevant data and create the proper documentation to acquire Cyber essentials and IT Recovery Plan.
  • Gain an understanding of the IT systems for the whole company, especially the ERP and any other key software as it will be required to configure and setup new reports/ users / products / customers, data in general in all these programs.
  • Customisation, integration, deployment and maintenance of the ERP.
  • EDI configuring and testing with all the requirements from the customers.
  • Supporting IT Project Management: assisting with project planning, scheduling, and monitoring to help implement IT projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and resources are well-managed.
  • Testing any amendments or new developments applied in any software used by the company.
  • Technical Coordination: Overseeing and managing routine IT tasks, such as software updates, network maintenance, and data backups, as well as coordinating with vendors for equipment purchases, software licensing, or service agreements.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Preparing reports on system performance, helpdesk activity, and project progress, and maintaining documentation for IT policies, procedures, and asset inventory.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Assist in managing the IT budget by tracking expenses, gathering quotes, and assisting in resource allocation.
  • Liaise with suppliers for outstanding issues / quotes / orders / invoices.
  • User Training and Support: Developing training materials or sessions for new systems or processes and supporting employees with technical issues, especially when new technologies are Creation of manuals and step-by-step guides for the final user.
  • Support with the day-to-day queries of the non-technical staff.
  • Basic maintenance of hardware, especially production devices (like labellers, RDT’s, IPC’s) and troubleshooting, sending them to repair when This also includes mobiles and IPads.
  • Enforce Security protocols to protect organisation data.
  • Assist with administration procedures not IT related
 The role will be based at Harlow site but will require regular travel to Enfield, so a driving license and transport will be essential.
 
Experience
  • Good level of experience in a similar role, especially usage and maintaining an ERP system.
Knowledge
  • Preferably a BTEC National Extended Diploma in IT (Level 3) or FdSc Computing and IT (FdSc Information Systems) or HND in Computing or (Information Technology).
Skills/Abilities
  • Excellent IT skills in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical.
  • Works flexibly, able to handle unexpected challenges and evolving technology landscapes.
  • Collaborates effectively with other departments and external partners.
  • Detail focused.
  • Confident using initiative and working independently.
Experience
  • Familiarity with ERP’s and CRM’s.
  • Understanding and applying GDPR.
  • Understanding of networks, servers, cloud computing and EDI
  • Experience with tools like Active Directory, virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware).
 
Knowledge
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fields.
Skills/Abilities
  • Knowledge of Power BI and SQL.
