Location: Harlow, UK
Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM (1-hour lunch break)
Holiday: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Job Overview: As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you will assist our experienced Quantity Surveyors in managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of our construction projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional development and career progression in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management:
- Assist in preparing and updating project budgets and cost plans.
- Support the preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender documents.
- Monitor project expenditures and report on cost variances.
- Contract Administration:
- Assist in the preparation and administration of contracts and subcontract agreements.
- Help in reviewing and negotiating contract terms and conditions.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company policies.
- Measurement and Valuation:
- Participate in the measurement and valuation of construction work.
- Assist in preparing interim valuations and final accounts.
- Conduct site visits to gather information and verify measurements.
- Procurement:
- Support the procurement process by obtaining quotations and preparing purchase orders.
- Assist in the selection and appointment of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Help manage supplier and subcontractor performance.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to costs, contracts, and valuations.
- Assist in preparing regular reports on project financial performance.
- Ensure all documentation is filed correctly and accessible.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with project managers, site teams, and other stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Attend meetings and provide support as required.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (or currently studying towards one).
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
