Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager/Head of Projects to oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of commercial kitchen projects in London. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, heating, and electrical engineering within the context of commercial kitchen environments, along with proven project management expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of commercial kitchen projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, H&S and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive project plans and specifications.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to gather relevant information, identify potential challenges, and develop effective solutions.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and onsite personnel, providing guidance and support as needed to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators, and address any issues or deviations from the plan in a timely manner.
- Maintain clear and open communication with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, providing regular updates, addressing concerns, and resolving conflicts as they arise.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards, prioritising the health and safety of all personnel involved in the project.
- Manage project finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control measures, to optimise profitability and minimise risks.
- Evaluate project outcomes and performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field would be beneficial but not essential.
- Proven experience in project management, preferably within a related industry.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical, heating, and electrical systems relevant to commercial kitchens.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and foster positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques, with a focus on delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, manage competing priorities, and make informed decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
