- This is a great opportunity for a HR Advisor who is seeking an interesting role which will involve assisting on a range of HR related projects whilst also offering, support, advice and guidance on a wide variety of HR issues.
Job Purpose:
- Provide coaching and mentoring to support to HR colleagues
- Support Line Managers to deliver a full range of employee relation casework and change assignments
- Assist with HR projects – i.e. Job Evaluations
- Assist with corporate learning initiatives
Responsibilities:
- Delivering HR advice and support to managers, including interpreting and applying terms and conditions of service and contracts of employment
- Manage casework on HR issues including discipline, capability, absence, grievance, and appeals
- Assist with the review of HR policies and practices, identifying areas for improvement
- Assist in analysing HR data and producing reports
- Contribute to corporate HR projects and process improvements
- To take responsibility for own personal development
- Promote equality and diversity in all aspects of the role
- Maintain a working environment that is safe and without risk
- Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as may arise commensurate with the grade and role
Person Specification:
- Membership of the CIPD, or equivalent experience
- Understanding of HR processes, recruitment, and employment law
- Experience delivering HR advice and managing casework
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to collaborate and work as part of a team as well as use own initiative
- Ability to present information clearly and concisely
- Possessing self-confidence and personal/professional credibility to build positive working relationships
- Ability to provide pragmatic solutions to intricate HR issues
- Proficiency in HRIS and other HR-related software applications
- Proficiency in MS Office and case management systems
- Strong organisational skills and proactive approach
- Understand and have an awareness of Data Protection
- Commitment to promoting equalities, diversity, and inclusion
- An awareness and understanding of Health & Safety
- Experience working within a local authority (DESIRABLE)
- Knowledge and understanding of Job Evaluation (DESIRABLE)
