- LOGISTICS COORDINATOR
An exciting opportunity has arisen in a multi-billion dollar, global food business, based in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. To support their continued growth and development, they are recruiting for a Logistics Coordinator to join their fantastic clients Import Logistics team.
They are looking for somebody who is eager to join a busy team in a fast-moving business. This would ideally suit somebody who has been in a similar role for 2+ years.
Ideal candidate will need to be immediate advanced in Excel as this role is spreadsheet orientated. Experience of European and international sea freight container shipping is essential for this role.
The Role
Duties & Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
• Log & Track all shipments
• Scheduling of all contracts and shipments directly with suppliers
• Establish freight rates directly with shippers and hauliers
• Establish and verify duty rates
• Ensure all documentation with regard to import regulations with the EEC is in order and correct
• Liaise with nominated clearing agents
• Timely and accurate completion of import and export customs entries and declarations
• Update inhouse computer system in accordance with the company’s day to day business practices
(system currently being updated)
• Liaise with clearing agents in a timely manner to ensure that all documentation is in order and presented to them to avoid excess handling charges
• Work with the senior management team to ensure a smooth process
• Providing goods traceability reports for Technical Department
• Adhering to the full requirement of the role with respect to Food Safety Legality and Quality, In line with Food Safety & Quality Policy
• Support other colleagues or departments when necessary
• Any other reasonable request
The Person
• 2-3 years + in Logistics/shipping/transport – import (essential)
• Knowledge of EU and non-EU import and export processes
• Producing and dealing with international shipping documentation
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment - working to deadlines and changes ability to react to short notice changes to suit operational requirements
