A very friendly business based in Welwyn, you will the sole buyer in a close knit wider team. You will be responsible for the total business spend. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in procurement, supply chain or purchasing.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Be main liaison between engineering contractors , suppliers and new suppliers for all issues relating to materials and other products purchased.
Obtaining quotes; collate and analyse quotes.
Raising & expediting purchase orders
Negotiating best terms and conditions, pricing.
Work closely with the warehouse and production to manage stock control and stock taking process.
Forecasting against materials and other tools needed, based on stock control activities.
Handling all elements of supply chain, procurement, buying, purchasing.
Skills and experience:
Experience of Buying or Purchasing within an engineering manufacturing environment (Desired)
