- You will be joining this business at an exciting time, they have been growing at a rapid rate over the last 3 years and are looking for this to continue, this role could develop over time as the business and group expands.
This role will be located in Essex and will be Monday to Friday and office based, you will be a driver due to the location, there will be an option of a day a week working from home after a settling in period.
The role requires an innovative Financial Controller who is keen to modernise and improve current working methods whilst being understanding of any impact on business and staffing impacts that this may have
Duties include:
- Ensuring timely production of management accounts and management packs
- Reporting detailed financial information to key stakeholders on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Be able to work in a an environment that is heavily reliant on paper based methods and look at improving these
- Produce regular budgets and forecasts for the Directors
- Quarterly VAT Returns
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Lead various system implementations around Sage 200
- Monitor and review Cash Flow Reporting while providing analysis around this
- Creating reports (annually and monthly) for various stakeholders that interprets information on results, trends, and forecasts
- Overview of all financial processes to ensure fully compliant
- Overseeing all audit processes
- Reviewing all financial data to identify opportunities and communicating effectively with all affected stakeholders
- Working closely with the Directors and to interpret data and understand all opportunities, impacts and cost control
- Manage and develop a team of 4
- Support the directors with winning business/tenders
- Ability to work with current suppliers to ensure that costs budgets are met
- Ability to assess, improve and implement financial controls and processes where appropriate
- Good communication, leadership and team management skills
- Have at least 3 years plus producing full management accounts
- Excellent IT skills which include SAGE, Excel and various other Microsoft programs
- Must be able to produce innovative solutions to challenges set by external stakeholders (not only applicable to accounts function)
- A commercial acumen and comfortable to work with various stakeholders
