Job Title: Strategic Project Manager
Location: Hybrid working; Home and office
Role Purpose:
The Strategic Project Manager is responsible for the successful management of a variety of different sized projects at several stages, to bring them in on time and within budget.
This role will require travel within and outside the UK.
Main Responsibilities:
o Responsibility for end-to-end management of concurrent strategic projects.
o Appoint project teams and provide leadership and support to facilitate the work of the cross-functional teams.
o As part of the project concept stage, assess suitability of in-house manufacture vs 3rd party and determine the appropriate path for the project.
o Appoint a steering committee.
o Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including a detailed project plan, project brief, risk assessments, business case.
o Delivers the result to the defined scope and quality, on time, on budget, and in line with the business objectives so that it achieves the expected business outcomes.
o Ensure the controlled hand-over of the completed project deliverables to the business functions.
o Work closely with the Director of Strategic Projects to develop the divisions 3yr+ strategy plan and project roadmaps.
o Develop, track and report on business development KPI’s.
o Prepare a monthly report summarising progress of projects.
o Accurately and efficiently follow up meeting actions, and generate suitable call reports for the business as required.
o Identify and develop relationship with third-party manufacturers, research and development laboratories or analytical testing agencies to deliver high-quality, cost effective solutions which support current and ongoing strategic projects.
o Identify and investigate new business opportunities. Develop relationship with existing and prospective business partners to have a deeper understand of their products and business needs.
Essential Knowledge:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management and some knowledge of developing and implementing business strategies.
- Certified Project Management qualifications e.g. Prince2
- Minimum 5years experience working in a chemical or manufacturing environment.
Essential Skills:
- Proven Project Management experience leading and managing multiple projects and stakeholders with a history of delivering business change to achieve outcomes and benefits.
- Experience of working in the relevant business environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving capabilities, and comfortable with uncertainty
- High commercial awareness
- Strong independent planner
Essential Qualifications:
- BSc Hons qualification in a scientific discipline such as chemistry or Cosmetic Science.
