- Assistant Accountant
Hybrid position.
This is a brilliant opportunity for an ambitious and confident Assistant Management Accountant who is keen to learn and wants to join an organisation where people are truly valued and looked after. The successful candidate will be qualified to AAT level 2 or higher and will have ambitious plans to progress and develop their career whilst continuing to study.
- This is a newly created role within the Finance Team and will support the business with meaningful analysis on key areas including daily reporting to the Executive Management Team and weekly profit analysis to the Commercial team ensuring that the financial information is clearly understood by nonfinance audiences
- Alongside the UK Financial Controller, the Assistant Management Accountant will also be involved in supporting the improvement of current processes and implementation of new ones.
- This exciting prospect presents the opportunity to develop and progress whilst studying for AAT, which will be supported by the company.
- The Assistant Management Accountant will also deputise for the Financial Controller in their absence
- Support the preparation of accurate and timely management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations for the UK Distribution and Manufacturing business.
- Assist with year-end, audit, VAT returns and departmental reporting.
- Support month end processes to the agreed timeline with the agreed accuracy
- Assist in the completion of our statutory audit, working with the external auditors, the finance team and the wider business teams
- Completion and submission of the quarterly VAT return for the Distribution and Manufacturing business
- Promote the business accounting policies Management Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly management accounts from trial balance stage, analysing key variances and providing insightful summary commentary
- Work closely with the UK Financial Controller supporting production of the annual budget
- Production of insightful Commercial Analysis for a non-Finance audience on a weekly basis
- AAT Level 2 or above qualified with the desire to continue to study
- Keen to learn and develop whilst working within an Accountancy environment
- Flexible attitude, confident working to deadlines
- Pro-active and self-motivated
- Tenacious, resilient, and determined
- Proficient user of Excel, experience with Sage X3 advantageous, able to produce Power Point presentations
