- Description
Our client in Hertford requires a HR Officer on a full-time basis working 37.5 hours on site per week with a requirement to work occasional Saturdays on a rota basis during term time. There is flexibility for a part time position and all requirements will be considered.
The HR Officer will support the HR Manager on projects and day to day operation of the HR function to deliver a first class, efficient HR service.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - fully office based
Salary: £30,000-£33,000 per annum
Duties to include and not limited to:
- Ensuring compliance with HR legislation
- Integrate employee data onto the HR system and ensure the most efficient use of digital technology within the department to maintain accurate employee records
- Accurate and timely collation of payroll data for the payroll department
- Support the Recruitment Manager as required with end to end recruitment process, liaising with hiring managers on requirements, preparation of job descriptions, posting adverts and managing the hiring process.
- Maintain the highest standards of recruitment and vetting procedures ensuring safeguarding at all times
- Preparation of employment related documents including contracts, contractual amendments and compensation letters
- Onboarding, off boarding ensuring a seamless transition including exit interviews.
- Advise and support all staff with employment matters.
- Under the guidance of the HR management, manage the disciplinary and grievance processes
- Advise on employment relations cases, advising the relevant direction and process
- Ensure all staff receive the effective probationary review and annual appraisal.
- Support the HR Manager with the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
- Stay abreast of changes in employment legislation.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Good general level of education is essential ( A level or equivalent)
Essential knowledge skills and experience
Extensive HR experience
Varied end to end experience as a HR generalist, HR Officer or HR Advisor
Experience is a HR advisory capacity.
Knowledge of UK employment law
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Good literacy and numeracy skills
Excellent written communications skills
Desirable skills
A relevant HR qualification is desirable but not essential.
