Product Manager Job Description

Responsible for pushing new products from concept to launch, ensuring the projects meet the timelines and within budget
Manage the new product development process from concept, sampling to sign off:
- Working closely with the Lead Engineers in the UK and the Middle East
- Chair weekly /daily meetings to discuss projects with internal and external stakeholders
- Work with internal External manufacturers to calculate costs and arrange for prototypes, samples and production prices / Margin requirements
- Define the deadlines and chase the design team
- Product sourcing/management
- Product packaging sign off
- Price management as part of the sign off process - UK / OEM / Trade
- Manage new product development meetings to gather feedback and inform stake holders of progress.
- Manage and update Critical path
- Raise POs for first order
- Working with sales / marketing to ensure awareness of stock levels to determine launch dates
- Products are extremely varied
- Ensure quality compliance and adherence to industry standards– UKCA / CE / EU Representative – WEEE
- Highlight gaps in the product range and review existing ranges
- Manage the Multi-currency price books– including bi annual price increase (Manual Books and SAP templates)
- Manage product data across the business
- Maintain the part number and barcode database
- Creation of product BOM
- Pack
- Working with sales to forecast sales number for new products
- Launch analysis – see X:\OPERATIONS\New Product Development\Launches
- Reviewing sales data – reviewing product life cycle - suggest discontinue / future new product order qtys.
Previous experience/requirements:
2yrs in product management with experience of project management.
Understanding of core product planning, commercials and forecasting.
Understanding on firmware/hardware development would be desirable.
Confident updating stakeholders weekly.
Ability to build strong working relationships both with internal and external stakeholders.
Confident in SAP systems (or similar) and maintaining intercompany administration.
Understanding of product compliance for UK/EU/ROW.
