Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven sales and business development individual with a working knowledge of procurement frameworks to join a new initiative for a professional organisation within the construction industry.

The Partnership and Business Development Manager will play a crucial role in the success of the organisation and  will take a lead on building and sustaining relationships with procurement frameworks and other industry organisations, generate new sales leads for the organisation, develop and manage a pipeline of companies  and encourage them on the journey towards being an organisation Champion,  forecast sales revenue and progress tasks and processes to develop and implement awareness, engagement and growth opportunities.

This is a hybrid role, working from the office and home with occasional travel to London.

Duties will include:

  • Identifying and engaging with procurement frameworks, companies, stakeholders, partners, customers and clients including:
    • seek out the appropriate contacts in an organisation
    • generate leads and cold call prospective customers
    • meet with partners/customers/clients face to face or over the phone
    • foster and develop strong relationships with frameworks/ companies/partners/customers/clients
    • understand the needs of customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these
    • have a good understanding of the businesses' products or services and be able to advise others about them.
  • Develop, grow and manage a pipeline of prospects and encourage and support them to progress onto the Champions process.
  • Keep company intelligence up-to-date and use this to inform prioritisation of prospects and manage ongoing contact and relationships with companies.
  • Input into and help deliver targets for participation and income.
  • Build relationships with participating procurement frameworks and work to recruit new ones.
  • Work with and support the Assessor community to build relationships with new and existing participants and share company intelligence.
  • Research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets
  • Preparing and sharing data to inform decision making.
  • Development and management of overall approach and use of Salesforce CRM and management of intelligence from our pipeline.
  • Contribute to promotional strategy and activities with the marketing department including:
    • developing and presenting webinars and other sales, promotional and relationship building activities
    • Contributing to and editing marketing materials both online and offline.
    • Coordinating marketing events and activities.
  • Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives to develop and improve the business
  • work strategically – contribute to necessary planning to implement operational changes
  • Develop and deliver discrete projects as required.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Working knowledge of procurement frameworks [in construction advantageous]
  • Project management experience
  • Organised and attention to detail with the ability to prioritise
  • Ability to create strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.

Desirable

  • Degree in Business Development/ Management /Sales [or equivalent experience]
  • Experience in the construction industry
  • Project management skills
  • Experience in Salesforce
  • Experience with CRM tools
  • Presenting skills
  • Presentation and production e.g. PowerPoint or other presentation software
