We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced and qualified Financial Director for our client based in Harlow. Part of a PLC group of international companies they supply and assemble a comprehensive range of products to well known industrial customers.
Working closely with the senior management team and supervising a small finance team, the successful candidate will preferably have some previous manufacturing industry experience.
The Finance Director will be expected to implement and maintain an appropriate system of financial controls and ensure the timely production of financial information. You will continually develop and improve the finance function, systems and procedures and support the Managing Director in achieving the operational and strategic objectives of the company.
Key Responsibilities:- Form a close working relationship with the Managing Director and the Divisional Finance Director at Head Office
- Take overall control of the company’s accounting and finance function
- Ensure that company financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth.
- Work with senior teams as a business partner to grow the business, formulating strategies and plans. Contributing to regular management meetings.
- Responsible for preparing the annual budget and 12 month rolling forecasts for both P&L and Balance sheet
- Responsible for the full month end closing process including preparation of monthly reporting pack and submission to Head Office.
- Take ultimate responsibility for the company cash/working capital management.
- Responsible for FX reporting and hedging
- Responsible for statutory reporting, taxes and overseeing external and internal audits
- Ensure that the regulatory requirements (including GDPR) of all statutory bodies are met
- Ensure compliance with Head Office/Group policies and procedures. Ensure all expenditure is approved in accordance with approved authority limits.
- Lead and develop the small finance team
- Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties including customers and advisors including the company’s statutory auditors
- Continually look for improvements in processes and procedures and use of time saving technology wherever possible
- Manage customer and supplier account queries.
- Be the champion for developing and improving the ERP system
- Take responsibility for management of the building
- HR duties including but not limited to:
- Company Handbook and other internal policies
- Administration of IRIS
- Appraisal system
- New starter protocol
- Recruitment
Minimum Education/ Experience Requirements:
- Professional accounting qualification required; ACA, ACCA or CIMA
- A background in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage.
- At least three experience in leading a team of relevant size, proven managerial and leadership skills, performance driven and agile
- Strong business partnering and interpersonal skills
- Experienced with group level reporting within international organisations
- Experience working in an SME would be beneficial
- Strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction.
- Ability to effectively work on and manage many priorities at the same time
- High degree of proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with Orderwise ERP a plus
- Strong written and oral communication skills
