We have an exciting and rare opportunity to join a fast paced rapidly developing business based in Harlow.  The role is pivotal to the business and they need a dynamic and experienced Business/Office Manager, who will be working closely with the Directors and help to lead the business in a time of accelerated and sustained growth. They are looking for someone who is bright, enthusiastic, and eager to develop themselves further.

It is a role of ‘wearing many hats’ and the willingness to get stuck in and help wherever needed.

You will be very involved with the service desk, overseeing and managing a small enthusiastic team, dealing with any issues, attendance/holidays etc. You will have direct contact with customers, anything from enquiries, to quotes, sales and any queries as they arise.  You will also be involved with all documentation control, accreditations, some procurement, managing the supply chain and invoicing. Looking after the office generally and supporting the directors.

You will be capable of working both independently in a fast-paced setting which will require initiative, strong organization, flexibility, and the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and prioritise accordingly.

As the role evolves and the business continues to grow and you will be expected to welcome a culture of continuous improvement and development, both within your role and as part of your personal and professional capacity.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Proven experience within a similar role and ideally within the maintenance/contracting/construction sector, maintaining high standards of document control and administrative support.
  • Capable of working independently, strong organisation skills,
  • Excellent computer skills, with high level proficiency and expertise with MS Office Suite, especially Excel.  Experience of using cloud-based services and CRM systems.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Be able to manage and prioritise a demanding and varying workload.
  • Competent level of English for written and spoken communication required to relay information effectively to all stakeholders.
  • Previous experience of documentation control, procurement, invoicing and managing a small team.
  • Previous experience in working with ISO9001
  • Knowledge of relevant regulation and legislation within the industry highly advantageous.
  • Experience of setting up and maintaining systems, processes and procedures.
  • Assisting with the development of company policies, processes, and procedures.
