You will be an integral part of the business, ensuring that all GDPR and data protection laws are adhered to.
You will create policies that enforce compliance with legislation and deliver on-going GDPR training to the business with a view to increasing awareness of data protection measures. Furthermore, you will maintain the Companies various internal data protection registers, privacy notices and take lead on internal/external communications.
Skills required:
• Accredited or equivalent professional qualification in data protection
• Able to demonstrate a strong ability to undertake responsibilities as set out within this job brief
• Have in-depth knowledge of GDPR and local data protection laws
• Be familiar with our industry and the nature of its data processing activities
• Understand how to prepare and undertake internal audits to our current procedures
• Broad experience in data protection and legal compliance
• Strong presentation and communication skills with experience of delivering data protection workshops
• Ability to identify and recognise opportunities for new or improved technologies to enable a more effective data protection compliance function and improvements.
• Strong stakeholder management experience
Key objectives:
• Provide advice and instructions on how to conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments in line with corporate guidance
• Assist in the drafting and review of data protection addendums to sales and procurement contracts as applicable
• Act as point of contact with EU residents, supervisory authorities and internal teams
• Identify and evaluate the Company data processing activities
• Monitor data management procedures and compliance within the Company
• Participate in meetings with managers to ensure privacy by design at all levels
• Maintain records of processing operations
• Ensure we address all queries from data subjects within legal timeframes (e.g. delete their information from our databases)
• Liaise with other organisations that process data on our behalf
• Write and update detailed guides on data protection policies
• Perform audits and determine whether we need to alter our procedures to comply with regulations
• Offer consultation on how to deal with privacy breaches
• Arrange for training on GDPR compliance for employees
• Follow up with changes in law and issue recommendations to ensure compliance
