We are looking for a confident Buyer to join the Supply Chain Team for a company who is enjoying a period of strong growth both in the UK and overseas and has ambitious plans for the future. The individual will need to have previous experience as a Buyer, be a self-starter and will have the opportunity to make the role their own and develop their career.
You will understand the demands of the business, customers and suppliers, maintain and build excellent relationships with suppliers to enable that competitive edge.
Responsibilities will include:
All procurement for the company
Sourcing potential suppliers
Building good working relationships with suppliers
Maintaining records for PO’s, quotations, invoices and inspection reports
Dealing with supplier performance and issues
Be aware of market behaviour, pricing etc., and identify new opportunities and alternatives for supply
Ensure products/services are procured to specification and delivered in accordance to agreed terms
Collect benchmark quotations and manage price negotiations
Person Specification
2+ years within a Buying/Supply Chain role
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships
Good commercial awareness
Strong negotiation skills and ability to see the bigger picture
