We are looking for a Senior Tester for an established, well known company based in Hertfordshire.

You will be responsible for the quality of software development and deployment and will be involved in performing automated and manual tests to ensure the software created by developers is fit for purpose. Some of the duties include analysis of software, and systems, mitigate risk and prevent software issues.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: 

• Develops creation of effective testing strategies, test designs, test plan, test processes, test cases and test data
• Analyse user stories, use cases and requirements for validity and feasibility
• Review and analyse system specifications
• Carry out testing as per the defined procedures
• Evaluate product code according to specifications
• Participate in walkthroughs of testing procedures
• Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
• Execute all levels of testing (System, Integration, and Regression)
• Help troubleshoot issues
• Design and develop automation scripts when needed
• Detect and track software defects and inconsistencies
• Prepare all reports related to software testing carried out
• Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyse results
• Create logs to document testing phases and defects
• Report bugs and errors to development teams
• Ensure that all tested related work is carried out as per the defined standards and procedures
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
• Collaborate closely with other team members and departments
• Provide timely solutions
• Apply quality engineering principals throughout the Agile product lifecycle
• Provide support and documentation

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE and COMPETENCIES:

• Minimum 5 to 10 years hands on testing
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
• Experience in .NET/.Net Core
• Experience with C#
• Experience working within or playing a leading role
• Expert knowledge in Test Analysis (ISTQB Advanced Test Analyst)
