Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a HR Advisor who is seeing an interesting and challenging role that will provide the opportunity for them to continue to learn and develop. The role will involve working with the HR Manager to provide a comprehensive and professional HR service by offering advice and guidance on a range of employment matters including, recruitment, absence, capability, disciplinary, training and salary benchmarking. 

The successful candidate will be committed to service excellence and continual improvement, they will also be confident liaising at all levels and enjoy getting involved in a wide variety of projects.

Duties

  • Devising and implementing recruitment campaigns and activity within agreed deadlines ensuring that recruiting managers are supported during the recruitment process.
  • Acting as a recruitment expert on employee resourcing strategies, including assessment and selection tools.
  • Providing innovative, cost effective and timely solutions.
  • Supporting the HR Manager to develop recruitment processes, selection, ensuring that all recruitment activity is conducted in accordance with the recruitment policy.
  • Overseeing the effective management of interviews, assessment and selection tools.
  • Keeping abreast of recruitment legislation and case law.
  • Evaluating and reporting progress against resourcing activity to demonstrate effectiveness and value.
  • Appointing and working with 3rd party providers for the management of recruitment campaigns and the supply of interim and, where necessary, permanent appointments.
  • Managing the use of internal and external job advertisement sites to ensure information provided is accurate and complies with site regulations/protocols.
  • Co-ordinate the offer process with candidates and ensuring that all recruitment and interview documentation is stored in accordance with the correct procedures.
  • Supporting the HR Manager to develop and maintain an automated recruitment tracking system.
  • Supporting the delivery of training initiatives including liaising with providers and administration.
  • Provide advice, guidance and interpretation to Line Managers and other staff on the implementation of HR policies, procedures and practices, terms and conditions of service and on employment legislation.
  • To promote best practice and provide managers with effective and practical solutions to issues.
  • Work within the Occupational Health Service Contract and manage an associated absence management caseload.
  • In conjunction with the HR Manager, undertake allocated HR project work, including research where appropriate, to ensure that projects are delivered on time and to agreed objectives and performance standards.

Skills, knowledge and attributes

  • Relevant professional qualification or demonstrable equivalent work experience.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding issues commensurate with the role.
  • Proven experience of supporting the full end to end recruitment lifecycle within an in-house, Recruitment Process Outsource or agency environment.
  • Previous experience of providing support for recruitment and training administration.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • An understanding of employee relations and a willingness to develop skills in areas of sickness absence, disciplinary and grievance processes.
  • An understanding of employment law and best practice in the workplace
  • Excellent written and oral communications.
  • Proactive and organised approach with the ability to deliver against deadlines.
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills, including the ability to consult, negotiate, persuade and influence others.

You may be required to attend off site meetings either by public transport, your own means of transport or if available, a company vehicle.
