Description

We are currently seeking an Operations/Supply Chain Assistant to work within this family friendly business who are renowned in their field and who inspire creativity and innovation in all their employees.

This interesting and varied role reports directly to the Head of Operations and will involve assisting them to ensure that the business operates efficiently and effectively.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years administrative experience within a business to business environment, ideally purchasing or supply chain. They will be a natural multi-tasker who can work under pressure, prioritise effectively and manage challenges competently and with energy.  They will also be a great team player who has excellent written and verbal communication skills and can forge relationships both internally and externally.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of the Supplier Master Production Schedule
  • Raise purchase orders for stock replenishment
  • Production of the weekly ‘Out of Stock’ report
  • Supplier liaison
  • Working closely with the factory in china to prioritise orders
  • Review and process of supplier invoices
  • Confirmation of orders
  • Sending invoices to customs agent for sea freight
  • Management of the sea freight container schedule
  • General administration
  • Review of stock data to ensure accuracy
  • Assist head of operations with any ad hoc tasks as directed

Skills and attributes

  • Proficient user of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Detail orientated
  • Knowledge of Sage and Sap would be an advantage
  • Understanding of shipping terms and documentation
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Multitasker who works well under pressure and within tight time constraints
  • Willing and keen to build and maintain positive working relationships and to share information with others
  • Determination to achieve results
  • Optimistic and enthusiastic even when things do not go to plan
  • Confident dealing with issues and desire to find solutions
  • Team player with a sense of fun
  • Able to work independently and use initiative
