We are currently working with a fantastic organisation who are looking for a Health and Safety Officer to join their offices on a part-time basis. They are based on the outskirts of Harlow.
You will be responsible for overseeing the day to day safety and audits of the site in Harlow as well as work collaboratively with Senior Management and Supervisors to create a culture of safety for all staff. Using your previous experience and skills, you will promote best practice across the entire business.
Our client requires the successful candidate to work 24 hours per week and is flexible on the days worked. You will also be entitled to the following benefits:

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out risk assessments and consider how risks could be reduced, produce safe systems of work and support the management team in delivery of change
- Outline safe operational procedures which identify and consider all relevant hazards and control measures
- Carry out regular site inspections reporting of audits and be accountable for outstanding actions
- A clear focus on prevention by keeping up with employee training by leading in-house training & Toolbox talks with Managers and employees
- Finding the best way to prevent future accidents by recording incidents and accidents, investigate and advise accordingly
Key Skills and Competencies:
- You must be NEBOSH certified
- You must have previous experience of working in a similar role or Health and Safety role
- Able to interpret and apply safety legislation/policy in a business setting
- Proven and demonstrable track record on improving a company’s safety culture over the last three years
