We have a great new opportunity for a Payroll Project Manager, based on the outskirts of Bishop’s Stortford.
Due to the location of this role, you will need to have access to your own transport.
You will need to be available immediately as this is a contract role and will be for 6 months.
The successful candidate will have a good knowledge within payroll, particularly migration and project work.
Main Duties and Responsibilities;
- To understand payroll and pay related/financial reporting for all monthly paid employees, ensuring their operation in accordance with current legislation, policies and procedures. Analyse current payroll procedures and practices and suggest more efficient and cost effective ways.
- To have up to date knowledge and experience of current payroll systems and propose a system suitable for business need.
- To plan and lead the migration from one payroll system to another ensuring a smooth transition.
- To engage with stakeholders across the business to ensure their needs are met with regards to pay and payroll.
- Ensure that the payroll policies and procedures meet business requirements.
- 6To maintain an in depth knowledge of all legislation affecting payroll including PAYE income tax, NI, SSP, SMP and all other statutory deductions and adjustments.
- To lead liaison with Human Resources concerning the implementation of all changes to policies, procedures, pay scales and grading etc. which affect payroll.
- To implement and lead training of all staff authorised to approve payroll information so they are kept up-to-date with payroll policies and procedures - including sickness returns, timesheets, starters & leavers.
- To be a first point of contact for management and staff payroll queries and ensure high standards of customer care.
- To prepare reports of monthly calculation of Tax and NI for payment to HMRC by the due dates
- To provide useful and accurate management reporting on staff payroll data i.e. statistics, trends, departmental turnovers etc to stakeholders.
- To support the Finance Officer on month end reconciliations and postings.
