Description

We are looking for a professional and experienced Compliance Specialist on a full time permanent basis for our client in Harlow.  Excellent working environment and benefits.

The main purpose of the role will be to support the Operational function to ensure a high level of compliance and data quality is maintained and potential areas of risk are identified and monitored.  You will ensure the department works in line with regulatory and/or governance requirements and be responsible for the development of internal policies.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Policy & Pricing

  • Setting quarterly pricing including analysis and system notifications
  • Ownership of Internal Risk and Fraud Framework – monitoring and identifying potential area of concern
  • Responsible for monitoring the external environment and identifying the implications for the department
  • Responsible for development of internal policies.

Data Protection & Policy

  • In absence of the Data Protection Officer, process and respond to Data Subject Access Requests, provide cover by collating and recording data breaches and act as role model for data compliance.

Operational Compliance

  • Ensuring the department works in line with any regulatory and/or Governance requirements
  • Acting as the central point of contact for any audits conducted by the business’s internal audit manager
  • Undertaking necessary audits of suppliers
  • Work with the Operational Business Support (OBS) Manager on the department business continuity and disaster recovery plan.
  • Work with the OBS Manager with regards to the department risk assessments and risk register.
  • Other Ad-hoc duties, as and when required.

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience working within a similar compliance environment
  • Compliance qualification is desirable
  • Experience of managing projects and audits
  • Advanced excel with the ability to interpret, enhance and optimise legacy MI reporting conducted via multiple excel spreadsheets
  • Good grasp of statistical information and correlation to other statistics or factors
  • Proven ability to research, analyse and present information with a good eye for detail
  • Ability to interrogate and analyse existing processes then re-evaluate where appropriate
  • Proven communication skills both written and verbal with strong presentation skills
  • Ability to generate insights through exploratory analysis.
