We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a well established and leading organisation based in Redhill.
As the Accounts Assistant, you will need a strong technical knowledge of accounting processes, ideally with previous experience in the construction industry, encompassing a variety of responsibilities including contributing towards vital Month End processes and procedures. The role would suit a versatile and motivated team player seeking to develop their experience in a lively and fast paced environment.
Responsibilities include: (this is not exhaustive)
- Complete bank reconciliations and post necessary transactions
- Maintain sales ledger to ensure accurate and up to date records are kept, monthly sales reconciliations and handling any related queries
- Managing Purchase Ledger; processing purchase invoices and credit notes
- Understand and adhere to internal audit/compliance/statutory requirements and provide fundamental support during the Year End Audit process
- Assist with monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and posting journals relating to accruals/prepayments, depreciation of fixed assets and other necessary transactions
- Assist the Group Finance Manager in the production and consolidation of monthly management accounts for all companies
- Provide support and assist the Group Finance Manager and Financial Director with necessary tasks and reconciliation where required
- Ability to perform all functions of the accounts department (including Payroll) to cover team holidays/sickness as and when required
Person Specification:
- A strong background in the Construction industry encompassing self-billing and applications is highly desirable
- Sage 50 payroll and Sage 200 experience essential
- Knowledge of Eque2 Software or similar Project Costing Accounting Packages is advantageous
- Driven, self-motivated and possessing initiative, with a well organised personality
