We are currently seeking a Team Manager to who will manage a team and take responsibility for the production of all reagents and enzymes used within the laboratory of a progressive and dynamic organisation.

Duties will include

• Line management and personal development of the reagent manufacturing team.
• Ensuring all departmental production and performance targets are achieved.
• Ensuring Health & Safety and Quality procedures are followed.
• Ensuring departmental legal compliance.
• Technically supporting the Manufacturing Team with the production and QC of our reagent and enzyme portfolio of products.
• Point of contact for all departmental enquiries.
• Liaise with sales staff and customer Services with respect to the progress and fulfilment of production orders.
• Report monthly KPI and departmental performance to Site Director.
• Develop short, medium and long term improvement strategies for the department and manage the implementation of improvement projects.
• Assist with producing quality documents like MSDS, COA and manufacturer declarations as required.
• First check of Mix QC.

Required Knowledge, Experience and Technical Skills

• At least 2 years line management experience leading teams of more than 5 people.
• At least 2 years production management experience.
• At least 2 years laboratory operations experience.
• A working knowledge of ISO9001 or similar quality assurance frameworks.
• Experience and knowledge of molecular biology including end point and real time PCR
• Theoretical understanding and working knowledge of PCR chemistries
• Theoretical understanding and working knowledge of DNA extraction chemistry
• Theoretical understanding and working knowledge of production and downstream processing of TAQ polymerase
