We are delighted to be working in with a well-established and market leader in their field who are currently recruiting for a Credit Controller to join their Chelmsford office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing vital support to the Global Accounts team and will work in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. The position will require liaising with customers and external offices. You will report into the Financial Controller.

Working Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 5:30pm, you will be entitled to 20 days holiday which will increase one day per year.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage the credit control inbox
- Deal with queries, liaise with operations to achieve resolutions to outstanding issues
- Produce weekly and monthly reports of aged debt, paying particular attention to DV debt
- Credit check new customers, set limits and terms adhering to the approval processes
- Attend weekly meetings with the Credit Control team and Financial Controller to ensure the team remain focused and results driven
- Take ownership of own debtors ledger
- Send out legal letters in a consistent manner
- Regularly review and propose customer trading trends, putting together proposals for increasing credit limits and terms
- Liaise with a number of key agents to negotiate payment timelines including Purchase Ledger
- Provide anticipated receipts analysis to assist in cash flow planning
- Regularly report on own debt balances detailing action points and promised payments
- Ensure personal debtors are monitored and cleared weekly
- Ensure ‘on hold’ accounts, prevention and credit exceeded procedures are adhered to
- Take responsibility for unallocated cash reports
- Resolve day to credit control issues and problem accounts in a timely and efficient manner
- Cover the export operations when required
- Deal with multi-currency account, run separate reports and forecast incoming currency cash receipts
- Keep up to date with all ledger issues
- Any other additional duties as required by management
Continuous Improvement:
- Work with the Finance team to continually improve processes and business performance
- Support changes in the role necessary to take the department and business forward
- Work to achieve personal objectives set at appraisal and/or those set monthly or quarterly
