We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Buyer to join a dynamic and growing organisation based in Croydon.

You will take control of a portfolio suppliers spread across a range of different product types. They have long standing relationships with all of these suppliers and work hard to ensure that they remain one of their most trusted partners.

The role will include:

Purchasing

1. Collate Purchase Orders using the suggested Ordering System, analyse order report and discuss Anomalies with Purchasing Manager for order approval.
2. Verify acknowledgments to ensure that prices, lead times and quantities are correct.
3. Chase suppliers for delivery dates and update Merlin for items not received on time or acknowledged by suppliers.
4. Check product availability on specific sales enquires.

Stakeholder Relationships

1. Build relationships with your suppliers and engage with them on new products, promotions and changes to existing products.
2. Liaise with warehouse and suppliers regarding incorrect items supplies and any delivery issues.
3. Maintain supplier records including all contact details for your portfolio.
4. Negotiate improved prices, terms and deals with suppliers.

Analysis & Maintenance

1. Monitor and provide statistics for supplier, lead time changes and suggestions for product review and rationalising of specific products or ranges.
2. Complete new supplier application forms.
3. Flag Overstocked Products and Analyse data.
4. Import new suppliers into our ERP system.
5. Check and validate price increases.
6. Import all new pricing into Merlin to schedule of increases.
7. Import all new SKU’s into our ERP system.

Skills Required:

• You will have experience of product buying, pricing and general procurement
• You will have experience of dealing direct with suppliers and building relationships
• You will need to be analytically minded 
• You will have strong negotiation skills
• You will have excellent communication skills
